Instances of workplace harassment and violence are on the rise nationwide. The health risks that many of
us face as part of our day-to-day job requirements are becoming more dangerous also. With this troubling trend, it is important for
all of us to have the knowledge to protect ourselves from both the physical and mental hazards that we face each day.
As an employee, you have the right to a safe workplace. Your employer is obligated under OSHA's Occupational Safety and Health Act
(OSH Act) to provide a safe and healthful workplace for all employees. Employers who do not take reasonable steps to prevent or abate
a recognized violence hazard can be cited.
Our Occupational Safety and Health programs are designed to assist
an employer with making the work environment, that they provide to their staff, as safe and as friendly as possible.
