Automatic External Defibrillators or A.E.D.'s are medical devices designed to shock a person's heart that
is having an electrical disturbance known as ventricular fibrillation. For every minute that a person is in ventricular
fibrillation (VF), and they do not get treated, their chance of survival decreases by 10%. A.E.D.'s are very affordable to obtain
and even easier to learn how to operate.
What is a Public Access Defibrillator
Program?
A P.A.D. program is designed to allow the use of an A.E.D. by members of the general public during the time
of an emergency. The program outlines all of the requirements for an agency to obtain and operate an A.E.D. at their site.
Safety & Health Solutions, LLC can assist you with all of the steps of placing an A.E.D. into service from: selecting the
right unit, quantity of units and placement of units for your site, medical oversight, training and a written policy designed
to comply with federal and state regulations. A successful Public Access Defibrillator program must have all of the above components
in place prior to putting an A.E.D. unit into service.
